World Cup Group B Preview – by Gregg Livingstone

May 30, 2014 11:08 am

Group B consists of holders Spain, Netherlands, Chile and Australia. We will see a replay of the 2010 final between Spain and Holland and we also have the lowest FIFA ranked team in the competition in the shape of Australia. Chile make up the group and I can see them making it interesting for the 2 favourites. Spain and Holland will fancy their chances of progressing as the top 2 but with Chile’s brand of attacking football they could worry the big guns. Australia have it all to do and with an opening game against Chile, they really need points...

World Cup Group D Preview – by Matthew Williams

May 28, 2014 11:57 am

World Cup Group D Preview Group D is a tough one to call, with Italy, England, Uruguay and Costa Rica. You would expect 2 of the big 3 in the group to qualify, with the games against Costa Rica pretty much guaranteeing 3 points for each of them. If you look at their form through the qualifiers you would have to say that Italy and England are the favourites to make it out of the group, but Uruguay, with so much attacking talent, cannot be written off, so I expect the games between Italy, England and Uruguay to be very...

World Cup Group F Preview – by Dale Henderson

May 25, 2014 2:40 pm

The group consists of Argentina, Nigeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran. On paper it seems like perennial underachievers, Argentina, will dominate the group, with Bosnia- Herzegovina and Nigeria fighting it out for second place and Carlos Queiroz’s Iran expected to be the group whipping boys. Although, at the World Cup things do not always go to plan. I would expect Argentina to win all three of their matches, they have an embarrassment of riches upfront and haven’t even brought Carlos Tevez. It will be the battle for second spot that will be the intriguing one in this group, which is expected to...

Champions League Final: Can Atletico do the double

May 22, 2014 3:07 pm

The 13/14 Champions League winner will be decided this Saturday evening. After securing the La Liga with a draw at Barcelona, Atletico could pull off one of the shock doubles of all time… Diego Simeone deserves a lot of credit – taking over back in 2011-12, things didn’t look too good. But he worked his magic, and in his first full season in charge of the club, he won the Europa League and achieved a 5th place La Liga finish. The season after was even better – a 3rd place finish and the Copa del Rey secured. Fast forward to...

Now, I’m not sure about you but I’ve been looking at the teams and thinking how am I going to get Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar up front without having to put the entire Iranian midfield in my team. Well, with that in mind I have put together my top 10 players that could be worth a look this summer, these players...

It’s here – The Final Gameweek

May 8, 2014 2:56 pm

The 13/14 Premier League winner will be decided this Sunday. Manchester City only need to draw against West Ham to secure the title. Liverpool could still swoop in and land it for themselves –  a win vs Newcastle, and a loss for Manchester City, would see them crowned champions instead. All 10 EPL games kick off at 3pm. At the other end of the league everything is pretty much done and dusted. For Norwich to perform the greatest ever escape, they would need to win about 17-0 and West Brom would need to lose. It’s not going to happen! So,...

One More Title Twist? By Gregg Livingstone

May 1, 2014 9:45 am

Hi guys, So, it’s the penultimate gameweek and with the champions and relegated teams still undecided it really has been one of the best seasons in years. Manchester City play Everton, and a win for City would give them a giant advantage towards the title. If they slip up then Liverpool could take advantage and Chelsea could still sneak in and pinch it. All very exciting! With any of the bottom 8 still in the relegation mix, the lower end of the table is just as exciting. Remember guys that 6 teams play twice this gameweek so be sure to...

Making the Most of the final 3 Gameweeks

April 24, 2014 2:20 pm

Hi All, Firstly there is something really important that you all need to know. There are a few basics that make this game easier to play and will ultimately score you more points. For example, the obvious ones include: use your extra transfer, wait until a player plays before removing him and then put someone else in once the line-ups are announced about an hour before kick-off. There are many others that are far more subtle that give people an extra edge, but here is not the place to divulge them. There is something else that seems to be creeping...
