Captain Dan looks at GW11
November 6, 2014 11:18 amHey all you FIT addicts, I don’t think I’ve ever been this nervous about anything before – this is my first ever blog, so I hope you all enjoy it. What a gameweek it was in GW10, some teams were good, some were OK, and some were really bad. But I had the best end to a horrible Saturday’s football for most of my teams – the birth of my second daughter ๐ born at 9:10pm. But let’s not look back, it’s all about gameweek 11. The hardest choice for us fantasy mangers is who to pick as captain, as last season 99.9% of us had Suarez every gameweek. This season it’s a totally different ball game – so here is my top 5 picks and some statistics for some of the popular choices.
1. Pelle – Southampton
At the beginning of the season with Liverpool buying all of Southampton’s best players – Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren, we all thought, including myself, that they would struggle this season. But you never know what will happen in football and that’s certainly the case with Southampton – currently in 2nd place with St Mary’s a tough place to go – only conceding 1 goal at home so far this season. What a bargain they picked up in this man. 10 appearances, 6 goals and 3 assists, this player does not disappoint, and is a steal at just 8.4m.

2. Diafra Sakho – West Ham
At the start of the season, West Ham were one of the teams that everyone had down for a relegation battle, but with Sam Alladyce signing some good players – Enner Valencia, Alex song and Diafra Sakho, they have picked up some great results and even beat the champions 2-1 in gameweek 9. They look like contenders for some more shock results and aย top 10 finish, and with this man, they sure are getting the results they so desperately need to keep the fans happy. If you’re struggling for cash value in your iTeam, then this is surely a must have player. As I write this he has just returned to training. He remains a slight doubt for the weekend but I think he’ll make it.

3. Angel di Maria
When I heard all the rumours about Man Utd trying to sign Argentine winger Angel di Maria, I thought this would never happen, but then it did, and what a signing it has been not for only Manchester United but also for us hardcore fantasy app managers. This is the type of player we have all been dreaming about in our squads and he can produce the best football you will ever see – he has a touch and eye for those deadly balls into the danger area which scare the life out of defenders. Just what football is all about!

4. Alexis Sanchez
Same as Angel di Maria, at first this was another player I thought would not come to the EPL, but he has and I’m so glad he’s here. What a buy for Arsenal this was, and also for us FIT managers… As expected, he hasn’t let us down at all, and with Arsenal away to Swansea this gameweek, I hope he puts 10 past them. As a Cardiff fan, there’s nothing better than having a player who you have in your Fantasy iTeam scoring for fun against your bitter rivals ๐

5. Sergio Aguero
What a player he is… I don’t think there is one fantasy manager out there who has never put him in there team, if you haven’t, then why not? He’s near 100% guaranteed to reward you with points – what a dramatic finish to the 12/13 season when he scored the winner with the last kick of the game to win Man City the EPL title. Beating there rivals Manchester United, especially when Utd thought they had done enough to win it – then this bloke popped up in injury time, literally the last kick of the game and showed why you can never give this player time and space to get his shots away.

So now you have my top 5 choices, hopefully all this info will help you with that nightmare situation – who do I choose? As I have this problem most gameweeks, I say bring back Suarez and Bale and make life simple again…
I hope you all enjoyed the read, I tried my best, so it’s either going to be rubbish and boring, or helpful and a great read for you all ๐
Good luck in gameweek 11 and for the rest of your season, lets make it a good one
So that’s it from me…
Dan the man over and out
