The favourites all went through, but boy, some of them made it very difficult for themselves. We have 2 days of rest before the first of 4 cracking games kicks off.
A huge well done to all our FiT Prize winners.
Drew Preece is our GR4 World Champion, very well played. 99 points was a massive score, and he just beat Artur Milewski on goals scored, as points were tied. Before Belgium kicked off, Drew couldn’t have dreamed of winning – but a super substitute performance from Lukaku and a composed assist and finish from De Bruyne, propelled him to top spot. We will be in touch soon to sort out your £250 Amazon Voucher.
Our other winners:
GR1 FiT Quiz – Currently in 1st – Jack Moreton – 3282 F/c
GR1 F/c Comp Challenge – 1st James Sweeney – 6580 F/c
GR1 F/c Comp Pro – 1st Paul Cain – 8243 F/c
The biggest winner for me? Football! The likes of Chile, Mexico, Nigeria, Algeria, Switzerland and the USA all played to their strengths and were so close to causing major upsets. Some of the games weren’t the most entertaining over 90 minutes, but extra time, and in some case penalties, gave us some edge of your seat football. We now have some mouth watering fixtures to look forward too:
France vs Germany – Friday 17:00 (BST)
Brazil vs Colombia – Friday 21:00
Argentina vs Belgium – Saturday 17:00
Netherlands vs Costa Rica – Saturday 21:00
Individually, there was one player that stood head and shoulders above the rest. The only thing I seemed to do right in this World Cup was to put him into my iTeam in Gameweek 1. James Rodriguez is the player of the tournament thus far. 3 starts and 1 sub appearance, and he’s assisted twice and scored 5, all of them pure quality. His first against Uruguay a contender for the the goal of the tournament.
A special mention has to go out to the Goalkeepers. There have been very few Robert Green moments, and the likes of Cesar, Ochoa, Navas, the sweeper Neuer and that ridiculous performance from Tim Howard, have all been top notch.
No losers for me this round. But, if I must, and purely for personal selfish reasons, they would be Duarte, Rojo and Djabou. The latter cost me 18 points, as I’d invested in 3 German defenders – in fairness though, Algeria thoroughly deserved something to cheer about after a great World Cup run. Then there was Rojo, a stupid, unnecessary booking, his 2nd of the tournament, has ruled him out of the Belgium game. Lastly, Daurte. As soon as unlimited transfers started we all looked for a bargain, and Duarte was the player who stood out. -3 points and a suspension vs the Netherlands
was our reward.

This following data is collated by us here at FiT, we use the most reliable sources we can for this information, but we cannot guarantee it will be 100% accurate as sometimes countries and managers don’t give accurate information about their players.
Anthony Vanden Borre
Nigel de Jong
Mats Hummels – how do you get man flu in Brazil?
Sergia Aguero – he makes Darren Anderton look healthy
Neymar – can’t train but should be ok to start
Your GR5 transfers have now been allocated, and you shouldn’t rush out and use them. The best advice I can give you in this round is be patient! Wait until some of your players have been eliminated before doing anything, you can then take them out for players yet to play. It’s still going to take a lot of skill and an element of luck to get through the round with 11 players that are still involved, but the best managers make their own luck.
Best of – making your own luck in round 5,
