Gameround 4 Review: All 8 Group Winners Progress!

July 2, 2014 12:07 pm

The favourites all went through, but boy, some of them made it very difficult for themselves. We have 2 days of rest before the first of 4 cracking games kicks off. THE WINNERS A huge well done to all our FiT Prize winners. Drew Preece is our GR4 World Champion, very well played. 99 points was a massive score, and he just beat Artur Milewski on goals scored, as points were tied. Before Belgium kicked off, Drew couldn’t have dreamed of winning – but a super substitute performance from Lukaku and a composed assist and finish from De Bruyne, propelled...

Gameround 2 Review: England and Spain Crash Out!

June 22, 2014 10:59 pm

What a gameround… how crazy was Group D? Costa Rica are through to the knockout stage with a game to spare, whilst England, along with either Italy or Uruguay, will head straight home after playing just 3 matches. THE WINNERS A huge well done to all our FiT Prize winners. T. Weidner is our GR2 World Champion, very well played. 104 points was a massive score. 4 transfers were used to bring in Messi, Benzema, Muller and the disappointing Costa. Captain Robben and 3 Belgian defenders did the rest. We will be in touch soon to sort out your £250...

World Cup Group H Preview – by Liam Whitlock

June 8, 2014 11:50 am

Let’s get straight to the point, Belgium are the bookies favourites to win the group and are dark horses for some to lift the trophy. Will Capello’s experience be enough to see Russia through with Belgium, or will South Korea and Algeria mount a challenge? Belgium: How they qualified: Eastern European nations, Croatia and Serbia are traditionally tough teams to overhaul when it comes to qualifying for a major tournament, but the Belgians made a mockery of that. Among their eight victories, two came away from home against both of those nations, while 10 points were collected from the four...

World Cup Group A Preview – by Ben Harrison

June 5, 2014 11:09 am

Despite this group being one of the most looked upon, due to it containing the host nation, I am going to try and keep it as balanced and easy to follow as possible. So, obviously there is a huge expectation on Brazil, who have not had much success in recent tournaments. But with many tipping this to be their year, I am not sure it is that straight forward, and many others are saying they will either ‘flop/win, with there being no middle ground, and I would have to agree with them. Just a quick reminder of the 3 opening...

World Cup – Big Names Blog (Part 1) by Ben Randall

June 3, 2014 9:53 am

Here’s my group by group run-down of some of the big name players I’m currently considering for my squad. I’ve tried to include a few differentials, as the likes of Neymar, Robben, Reus and Oscar will already be in many an iTeam. Group A: Brazil, Croatia, Mexico & Cameroon: GoalkeeperBrazil, Julio Cesar – Club: Queens Park Rangers – International Caps: 78 – Value: 6.0M. Currently on loan at Toronto, he should be Scolari’s number 1. Awarded the ‘Golden Glove’ in last years Confederations Cup win, his recent international performances have been top notch. DefenderBrazil, Thiago Silva – Club: Paris Saint-Germain...

World Cup Group G Preview – by Dale Henderson

June 1, 2014 9:48 am

Group G looks like a very hard group to predict indeed. It consists of Germany, USA, Portugal and Ghana, these are four teams which have big reputations, and in all honesty I cannot call it. You cannot look past Germany for group winners, but they have games in the north of Brazil and two early kick offs, with the temperature being boiling hot, so expect this to be a factor. You may think that this shouldn’t be, but even the local Brazilian teams who play in that region will not play a game at that time, so make of that...

World Cup Group B Preview – by Gregg Livingstone

May 30, 2014 11:08 am

Group B consists of holders Spain, Netherlands, Chile and Australia. We will see a replay of the 2010 final between Spain and Holland and we also have the lowest FIFA ranked team in the competition in the shape of Australia. Chile make up the group and I can see them making it interesting for the 2 favourites. Spain and Holland will fancy their chances of progressing as the top 2 but with Chile’s brand of attacking football they could worry the big guns. Australia have it all to do and with an opening game against Chile, they really need points...

World Cup Hidden Gems – by Rob Wright

May 19, 2014 12:21 pm

Well here it is,the World Cup is almost upon us, and with the exception of Ibra and Bale the best players in the world will all be on show for what promises to be a great month of football. Now, I’m not sure about you but I’ve been looking at the teams and thinking how am I going to get Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar up front without having to put the entire Iranian midfield in my team. Well, with that in mind I have put together my top 10 players that could be worth a look this summer, these players...

It’s here – The Final Gameweek

May 8, 2014 2:56 pm

The 13/14 Premier League winner will be decided this Sunday. Manchester City only need to draw against West Ham to secure the title. Liverpool could still swoop in and land it for themselves –  a win vs Newcastle, and a loss for Manchester City, would see them crowned champions instead. All 10 EPL games kick off at 3pm. At the other end of the league everything is pretty much done and dusted. For Norwich to perform the greatest ever escape, they would need to win about 17-0 and West Brom would need to lose. It’s not going to happen! So,...

One More Title Twist? By Gregg Livingstone

May 1, 2014 9:45 am

Hi guys, So, it’s the penultimate gameweek and with the champions and relegated teams still undecided it really has been one of the best seasons in years. Manchester City play Everton, and a win for City would give them a giant advantage towards the title. If they slip up then Liverpool could take advantage and Chelsea could still sneak in and pinch it. All very exciting! With any of the bottom 8 still in the relegation mix, the lower end of the table is just as exciting. Remember guys that 6 teams play twice this gameweek so be sure to...
