The Champions League is back!

February 14, 2014 12:06 pm

It’s been a while hasn’t it. The last set of fixtures kicked off way back on the 11th December. The first thing you need to do is visit the match centre and make sure you use your 6 free transfers to get rid of players that didn’t reach the last 16. If you planned ahead, you can use some of your transfers to swap players in and out in-between the gameround 7 fixtures. It’s worth bearing in mind that you will receive new transfers for the return legs that start on the 11th March, so make sure you use all your current transfers during this round.

As I write this we do have some big players that may, and some that will miss out. Cavani is currently sidelined with a thigh injury and Laurent Blanc has ruled him out. Neymar has been out for a month with an ankle problem but returned to training this week, he is a doubt but he has a chance. Arsenal will be more than happy to see that Frank Ribery is sidelined after undergoing surgery on a buttock problem, ouch.

The following players have a little longer to recover as they play in a fortnight. Dortmund have concerns over a number of their players, with Bender and Reus their latest casualties, both are major doubts for the game. Then we have the popular Draxler, who has been missing for the last 2 months, he also returned to training this week and is in contention to face Real Madrid. The only player currently missing for the Galacticos is long term absentee Sami Khedira.

Our Champions League player database is fully up to-date with suspended, doubtful and injured players, so check it out. Anything can happen before the games start however, so it’s wise to wait for the line-ups before making changes. You may also have noticed a few additions, the likes of Diego and Cabaye have been added. It’s also worth mentioning that Honda, Mata and Salah are cup-tied, and will not feature for their new clubs.

If you haven’t created your free Champions League iTeam yet, it’s not too late. With lots of gameround prizes still to give away, it’s definitely worth having a go. Newly created iTeams have been winning a lot of the prizes recently.

Even though you received 6 free transfers for this round, you still have the option of purchasing a 7th, and if you’re an iPhone user, make sure you check out the Champions League themed Quiz.

Good luck in GR7 everyone.
